A true joy for nature lovers, Il Borgo is located at a vantage point over the Alcantara river on the road between Francavilla di Sicilia and Giardini di Naxos, a short distance from the sight of interest Gole dell'Alcantara. It is an area rich in hiking trails and unspoilt nature that beckons to be explored.

Enjoy the atmosphere and the view from the pool

Il Borgo is an antique farmhouse which has been beautifully renovated. Where you once had an olive press and wine production, is today a delightful restaurant. A number of thoughtful rooms have been converted in the old farmhouses and the old barn. A beautiful swimming pool has been installed in the garden between the house and the river with a sun terrace from where you can enjoy the amazing view of the surrounding olive and orange groves, and the lowest part of the Alcantara Valley. At the farm there is also parking and a reception.

Taste the flavours of Sicily

You can taste the true Sicilian flavours in the restaurant and choose from a number of dishes made with home grown and homemade products. The dishes served are accompanied by a careful selection of wines from the best local and national wineries. Here they produce liqueurs, including the famous limoncello which has to be tried! You can dine in the atmospheric dining room, or as long as the weather permits - outdoors on the terrace. The restaurant is occasionally used for weddings and other celebrations, especially on Saturdays. There are other restaurants nearby.

Rooms with air conditioning and - if desired - a balcony

The rooms are nicely decorated and all have air conditioning, television and a private bathroom with toiletries and a hairdryer and either a shower or a bath. Since the rooms are located in old converted buildings, they are all different and the images below should be considered as examples of the accommodation. Suite rooms are larger than standard hotel rooms and are more elegant in their design.

Fantastic stay

A very comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very pleasant, accessible and sympathetic. Good restaurant with food of great quality. A shame, we couldn't eat at the terrace every night...

We strongly recommend the place.

Only downside was the Wi-Fi-connection, which we couldn't get to work in the room.

A super nice place and nice location

Super nice place with a service-minded staff.
The rooms were cosy and big. The pool was maybe a little small, when it is filled with guests in the summer.
Lies well, and easy to get to nearby cities and places to visit.
We went to Etna, among more - a must when you live so close :-)
The restaurant makes really nice and exciting food, definitely worth a visit - or more :-)
The likewise, makes a great breakfast, with freshly squeezed juice, home made buns and fruit salad, amongst other things.

Trip to Etna and Gole Alcantara

Il Borgo has a beautiful and perfect location when you, as we did, need to experience Etna and Gole (free entrance when you are a guest at Il Borgo). Our rooms were clean and nice with a beautiful view to the mountains (the view costed extra).
Il Borgos restaurant was excellent at a reasonable price.

Our only complaint is that, the beds are all too hard after our taste, and the directions to Il Borgo could've been more precise.

Marianne, Niels and Peter Kjærgaard.
