After a day of hiking you can return to the comfortable rooms, dine in the restaurant, swim in the pool and prepare for another day of adventure. Despite its proximity to the bustling town of Giarre and the main coastal road, the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful.

Swim and look up

As you lie by the pool, you can look up at the smoking giant, it's quite something! The outdoor pool and terrace is a pretty setting surrounded by orange groves. In front of the hotel's reception, a particular historic feature is the original threshing floor (where grain was trampled on during early times). In addition to the reception, there is a breakfast room and a restaurant. The hotel car park is to the side of the hotel with an additional nearer car park for the restaurant on the opposite side.

The story of the restaurant

The restaurant deserves a chapter to itself. It is housed in the old, cosy rooms that once housed the farms winepress ( Palmento in Sicilian). The restaurant is managed separately from the hotel but it's service, presentation and hospitality is based on the same philosophy as the hotel - namely an authentic atmosphere and reasonable prices. The menu is based on seasonal local products and recipes, and it changes often. It isn't a huge menu, but there is enough that you can try out a new dish every evening during your stay. In addition, you can dine outside on the beautiful terrace with views of Etna, weather permitting that is. However, summer tends to be a very long season in Sicily so this isn't usually a problem!

A choice of rooms

The hotel's 30 rooms are located either in the main mansion house or in the restored stables and farmhouses. They are all very spacious and equipped with air conditioning, a safety deposit box, a mini-bar, satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet access and a hairdryer in the bathroom. Aside from that, they are all differently decorated in terms of furnishings. There are rooms with a loft that suit families with two children (and with a little ingenuity, you can also make a fifth sleeping space for a small child), but also rooms with a balcony or terrace. The price is determined by the location and size of the outdoor area, which can be a balcony or a terrace. Both the town centre and the beach can be reached within a short walk from here, around 15 minutes.

Review of Etna Hotel

Great hotel with good service and nice facilities. The nearest city was Giarre that offered a lot of opportunities for shopping, but as well as a lot of traffic. There is a lot of nice restaurants in the nearby city of Riposto, which is just next to the coast.
