Gliaca di Piraino is a small and relatively new town in comparison to the surrounding towns, and is around 15 mins from Capo d'Orlando on the same coastal road.

The town is relatively quiet in the winter, but there are several dining and shopping options that are open all year. There are more activities however between spring and autumn when the locals come down from the mountains to enjoy at day at the beach. They also come to see what has been labelled as Sicily's ugliest church, which is a new building and quite the opposite of a typical Sicilian church. They have however added a bell tower now which has improved its look.

You can walk along the seafront from Gliaca to Brolo where there are more shops and restaurants. Otherwise it is approx 11 km to Capo d'Orlando to the west and 57 km to Milazzo to the east. The mountains that form Parco dei Nebrodi provide the backdrop to this part of the coast.
