Planeta winery was among the first in Sicily to become recognized for their quality wines - and what quality! Their wines have always been very recognizable: a solid essential structure with a round and full-bodied taste. The same could be said about the rooms that they have arranged amongst some of their vineyards in Menfi.
Wine and nature in harmony
In contrast to most of the wineries which usually renovate or organise accommodation around the wine cellar, the family Planeta have chosen to create a vacation place that invites you to experience the landscape that provides the resources for the wine. The area around the reception desk serves as a large communal living room and gets plenty of light through glass walls - floor to ceiling - facing the vineyards, pool and ocean.

Taste the wine of course
There is usually an opportunity before dinner for an aperitif where guests can sample some of the farms wines. We can also highly recommend the wine tasting events that take place in the nearby Ulmo wine cellar, approx. 20-minute drive from here. The wine tastings are held in small and large groups (as few as two people) and depending on the level of interest you have for wines and farm production, it is possible that the tour lasts up to 3 hours. The surroundings of Ulmo are particularly lush and beautiful because of Arancio lake that characterizes the view and the landscape covered in vineyards and woods. Other facilities include; a swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, Turkish bath, small gymnasium, bar, restaurant, relax room with Wi-Fi internet and games and parking.
Classic rooms
Rooms at La Foresteria di Planeta are large, bright and delightful. Everything is designed - as in the rest of the house - with the use of solid wood, stone and quality materials. The decor is neither rich nor cold and minimalist. All of the rooms (the building is divided on two floors but because it is built on a slope), start from the terrace and garden and are equipped with air conditioning, wi-fi, a kettle and coffee maker, satellite TV, safety deposit box, mini-bar and iPod docking speakers. The bathrooms are really spacious and have either two showers or tub and shower and hairdryer. Bathrobes are also provided for quests.
The rooms at La Foresteria di Planeta
Classic rooms are approx. 20 - 22 m² and have access to a terrace with table and chairs. They are designed differently in terms of colours and furniture, but they are all lovingly well maintained.
Superior rooms are approx. 25 - 26 m² and have access to a terrace with a table and chairs. Superior rooms all have two double beds (queen size) and are particularly suitable for families up to 4 people, as long as the children are happy to share a bed.
There is only one deluxe room at La Foresteria di Planeta, and it is the largest of all the rooms (approx. 35 m²). It is recommended for those who want maximum comfort. Besides two double beds (queen size), making it suitable for families, it has access to two terraces. Its spacious bathroom has a bathtub.
