The small fishing village of Pozzillo is close to Acireale, which is really the municipality that the village belongs to. The small community dates back to the 1500's but today you will not find many traces from back then, rather more buildings from the 70's.
The town has always lived mainly on fishing and not so much on tourism, despite the beauty of nature, because here you will find no sandy beaches. However, you can lie and sunbathe on the black and flat rocks of lava and from there get into the water. The catch of the day is sold in the harbour on a daily basis.
