Then imagine that you have your own swimming pool available, and imagine that you are within walking distance of a cosy, and historic town centre and several restaurants. All this is possible at Villa Gisella. It is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday away from the pressures of everyday life and a way to discover an authentic Sicily.
The house has its own swimming pool, comfortable outdoor space and a covered terrace with a barbeque. The village of San Marco is quite special as it is steeped in history and has 22 churches, more than 4 museums, 4 libraries and a Greek temple from the 4th Century BC dedicated to Hercules. The charismatic village is in inviting setting to wander amongst the locals, take and espresso or grappa at the local bar, or try their great ice cream or speciality arancino

Villa Gisella has been designed to house a family in comfort all year round. However the family that designed it and who lived here originally moved down the coast to Sant'Agata Militello to be nearer to their work, and therefore made their house available for holiday lets. For this reason it is a suitable villa to rent all year round, as it has heating and air conditioning and is very well equipped with good quality wood furniture.
Villa- 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6/8:
- The villa is on two floors: On the ground floor is a very large living room with a fireplace and a dining table and access to the lovely garden with palm trees and a swimming pool. There is also a bathroom with a toilet and shower, a bedroom with two single beds, a laundry room with washing machine and a spacious kitchen with dishwasher and access to an outdoor kitchen with a spacious grill and an extra sink.
An interior staircase leads to the first floor. Here you will find a double room with access to a private balcony with sea views, a double bedroom with access to another balcony that is common with the side lying room where there is a bunk bed. In the hallway there is access to a bathroom with toilet and shower. All three bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, each managed by its own remote control.
From the villa, it is only 1 km to the town centre where you will find shops and restaurants. There is a lovely sea breeze that makes air conditioning almost superfluous except for the days when the warmscirocco wind comes all the way from the Sahara Desert. There is also a Wi-Fi internet connection, and it is possible to connect from the poolside.
We had a lovely week, but unfortunately the weather was a little versatile, so we had both sun and rain, but not something that ruined our trip. The villa is fantastically located and the view couldn't be better.
The house and the outdoor area are very suitable for families with young children, and the fact that you can pluck figs, apples, etc. from the garden was a big plus for the children (and the adults)
There were no problems with collection and return of the key/house and Sergio gave us a nice tour and instruction of the villa and the shopping facilities in the town.
We arrived tired after our trip around Italy, and were ready to relax and enjoy the pool! Sergio met us at the locale cafe, and showed us around the nice house.
The house actually lies a little by itself, with the most beautiful view the valley. The only noise is the neighbours dog, which is fond of barking...
The house is incredibly well-equipped, and we ended up eating home every day, since we needed a break from the restaurant food. The town has a nice supermarket (Not the one Sergio recommends, stop at the first one you see, when you drive to the town), here you can get anything you need. We bought meat at the butcher further up in the town. The baker has delicious morning bread, and is also open for those fresh in the morning.
Sergio has his own wine in the house, which you can buy. It's perfect for sitting in the lounge-furniture, under the palm tree.
You can everything in the house, and I would recommend only travelling with a maximum of 4 adults, and 2-3 children, since I wouldn't use the room on the ground floor.... It smells weird, but it's ONLY that room that does it. The rest of the house is PERFECT! We have rented holiday homes in the past, but never one, that was this well-equipped and cosy.
The garden is great, and the pool is perfect. I can only recommend the house! Wifi works like a charm, you can even stream films on ramasjang.
The bikes are not in tip top shape, and we didn't use them, and didn't need to.
Be aware of the distance, 25 km can easily take upwards of an hour to drive.
The beaches at Caop d'orlando were stone beaches, but the water was nice.
