Just 44 km from the Brenner Pass which is the border between Italy and Austria, is this cosy town of Bressanone. At around 22 km away from the town, you can take the Plose cable car up the mountain to 2,050 metres above sea level to enjoy dizzying panoramas.

A charming town to visit

Bressanone is large enough to offer shopping, pedestrian streets and a cathedral - but fortunately too small to be a hectic bustling city. This makes it an enjoyable place for a day trip if you are in this part of the Dolomites. In addition to its many shops, the town is also known for its Christmas market, and it has a number of cultural festivals. Many hotels here offer their guests the free Brixen Card that gives good discounts to include both museums and public transport.
