Fiavè is beautifully situated in the mountains on just about ½ hour drive north of Riva and Lake Garda, on the road to the lovely Molveno lake and the famous ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio.
Fiavè is not a town where you normally stop by, and actually you should. It is a really cosy little town with a few hotels, a bank, several small shops and a brand-new and super modern museum of the ancient "stilts villages" Museo delle Pallafite which, among other things to see was reconstructed at the nearby Ledroso. The general architecture of the city is anything but modern, though in return it gives you an insight to see how an ordinary farm looked in the old days
Between Fiavè and Riva you can make a stops and a walk at Lago di Tenno, which has an incredible emerald green color. From there you follow the road towards the town of Tenno, you get a really nice and very steep descent of the mountain road with many hairpin bends. Just before you reach the plain, one can make an interesting tour to the amazing waterfall Cascata del Varone.
