Hotel Luise is located at about 5 minutes walking from the old center of Riva del Garda. The most northern town on Laka Garda and the second largest of all towns around Lake Garda with mountains rising on either side. Riva del Garda was part of Austria until 1918 and if you stroll around you will find it the streets and architecture somewhat un-Italian. The town actually has only one or two actual historic sights, but mostly it is a pleasant base where tourists can stroll along winding streets and relax in waterfront squares. The town's main lakeshore area is made up of a harbour, a park and a beach. The norther part of Lake Garda is popular with windsurfers and from Riva it is possible to hire boats and there is a long beach excellent for sunbathing and swimming. If you prefer to do a bit of walking, there are some easy walks around town and some more intensive and panoramic hikes in the mountains around Riva.

Hotel Luise should actually better be referred to as “Feeling Hotel Luise” as it is an hotel with feeling, all created by the Bertolini family. In 1958 Rino Bertolini opened this hotel together with his wife “ Eugenia”. She was actually the chef and built a well-known cuisine throughout the years. Still the cuisine is epicenter of Hotel Luise and the hospitality is built around it. The Bertolini family is still running the hotel and the cuisine and good to know is, they only work with the best regional products; like local cheeses, fish from lake Garda and ice cream is made fresh every day again. Even the breakfast buffet is superb and offers a rich selection of products.
