You will find yourself in one of the most beautiful mountain settings at the Berghotel which is in the German speaking part of the Dolomites. The area is truly inspirational for those that love nature with of course great skiing options in the winter, and during the rest of the year, some amazing hiking trails. It sits just above the small town of Moso with restaurants within walking distance.

Numerous hiking trails and 150 m to the village of Moso

Despite the location in the midst of nature, it is only approx. 150 m down to a supermarket and a few restaurants in the village of Moso, whilst it is approx. 2 km to the slightly larger town of Sesto (in German: Sexten). If you like to hike and love scenery, then you are in paradise here with a number of walking routes passing the door: for example, Sesto route is about 5 hours, the Milky Way about 2 hours or Sesto -> Val Fiscalina -> Fondovalle approx. 2 hours (all three with the severity easy / medium). For more demanding routes, there is the Monte Elmo which is located at 2433 m above sea level. You can also take the cable car up to Monte Elmo (Helmbahn) just 1 km away, which will take you up to a restaurant at 2041 metres altitude and on to Versciaco. Hiking maps and other proposed routes are available at the hotel.

Benefits from the German-speaking culture

Berghotel is located in the German speaking part of northern Italy which has some advantages: the restaurants (both on site and in the surrounding towns) usually open a little earlier than those further South, often to the delight of families with children who are used to eating dinner early as 18:00 to 19:00 o'clock. Additionally, they tend to be multilingual in this area and speak both fluent German and Italian, and most also have mastered English as well. Finally, precision and orderliness is a common virtue of most people in this area, so you can expect good information and advice during your stay.

You will feel spoiled

You can enjoy a good selection of common areas both outside and inside the hotel which include a spacious reception room with a fireplace, several cosy corners, a library, a restaurant, a wellness area with a sauna, gym, jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pool (heated) and finally a fun playroom with many activities and games, including a Playstation and a climbing wall for the little ones. The restaurant provides a lively and evocative setting during the evening (the breakfast buffet is also served here), and you can choose the half-board option or the la carte menu. The price is so good for half-board it seems wrong not to take the option. After a long day hiking in the Dolomites, it’s a nice feeling to know that you are coming home to some wonderful gastronomic delights. On warm days, you are free to use the beautiful garden outdoors with sun loungers and a terrace with tables and chairs.

Above all expectations!

Incredibly good hotel! And the food! You definitely shouldn't hesitate about buying the half pension, you really get your money's worth. The chefs are fantastic and there are many different dishes to choose from. Even vegetarian alternative. The breakfast table is very good and varied. We had a big and fine room towards Mont Elmo with all facilities and a big balcony, since we had the ground floor, and the other floors had smaller balconies. Lived on the north side with a lovely view of the mountain. And since there was a heat wave, over 30 degrees, we were thrilled about having A/C. According to the hotel owners,it had never been as hot before! Can warmly recommend this hotel, which also had a pool and fine opportunities for sun, but it was too hot to sunbathe in.
