The artistic town of Trento is a well-preserved Renaissance town and the main town in the region of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige). It has many medieval castles and picturesque lakes on it's outskirts. It has undergone a recent facelift of it's facades and is now very clean and presentable.
This enchanting town has many cosy restaurants and a wide range of shops. It's main pride though, is undoubtedly the Castello del Buonconsiglio, from where countless princes have ruled the area for centuries. This castle is truly impressive in size and shape and is located on the outskirts of the old town. There is an entrance fee.
