Villa Madruzzo offers a collection of elegant rooms in this fine villa dating from 1432, located in a private park just 3km from the historic town of Trento. Here you will find much attention to detail throughout including the service, great dining in the Villa's own restaurant, a new spa and swimming pool and endless opportunity for walks in the beautiful grounds.
Madruzzo is one of the richest names in the history of Trento, and specifically it was the name of the family that ruled the dynasty from 1539 to 1658. The villa which dates from the 15th Century, was the summer residence of Cardinal Cristoforo Madruzzo for many years. A few years later, another house was built on the side of the villa called the Casa Particella and the two houses were connected by an underground tunnel. At the time, the owner of Villa Madruzzo, the future Bishop Carlo Emanuele Madruzzo, was in love with Claudia Particella who owned the neighbouring villa. It was for the purpose of secretly metting his forbidden love that he built the underground tunnel. So Villa Madruzzo has a somewhat interesting and romantic history!

The private park in which the villa is set is large and beautiful; filled with old trees and carefully tended flowerbeds, fountains and attention to detail from every angle. There is an array of winding paths that you can follow around the park that take you to all the hidden corners. Villa Madruzzo also has a pretty old chapel in its grounds with some wonderful stained glass windows that you can visit.
Villa Madruzzos restaurant offers local and regional specialties, try for example the gnocchi and steak and potatoes cooked with local mushrooms. The wine list covers, of course, a good selection of regional wines and favourites from other parts of Italy. In 2012, the hotel opened a new spa area with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and other amenities. The wellness area provides access to the most beautiful sun terrace with sun loungers and landscape views. Access to the pool and spa area is charged at an additional cost per person - in turn you are provided with robes, slippers and towels.
The rooms are spacious and decorated in a classic style. They vary slightly in size and have different views. Some rooms have a small terrace, while others have a more spacious terrace. The categorization of rooms depends on their size and standard rather than on their views or location. The room chosen can be adapted for the number of people in the party and can include up to 4 people. The rooms located in the central building which is the main house, are decorated in a classic style, whereas the rooms located in the out-building are more modern in terms of style.

Clean hotel, comfortable room with a nice bed. Relaxed, new buildings. The Wellness section was not expensive at all. Try to eat the breakfast as early as possible, that has a big selection, but that gets smaller around 09.30 am.
This was the third time, that we were at Villa Madruzzo. This time it was just a couple of nights. The main reason for us returning was mostly because of the restaurant, the location and the pool. The only thing we were a bit dissapointet about was to experience that kids only are welcome at the pool area between 12-15 a clock. Luckily we were allowed to use the pool outside these times and we were actually the only people using the pool.
The place is really nice and clean and easy to aces when you come from the north.
Very friendly people and the waiter was very good with the kids.
Good food with discreet fun and games.
Had a small girl who slept very long and when breakfast closed, they made a huge tray and carried it to our room without us having to pay extra.
Is definitely recommended.
