Caorle is located along the Adriatic Sea north of Venice between the mouths of the rivers Livenza and Lemene.

The towns are buzzing in summer when the tourists flock here in large crowds, especially the Italians who come to enjoy the sun and the beach. Since over 10,000 people live here, it's not exactly a ghost town during off peak times either, and this is evident from the amount of restaurants that are open all year and whom serve a mixture of traditional fish dishes. The lagoon located north of the town is a popular destination for cruises. None other than the great author Ernest Hemingway was captivated by the town and its charm and even described it in his book Across the River and Into the Trees. There are a number of references to the great author in restaurants and ice cream parlours around the town.
