Cison di Valmarino is a beautiful village in the northern part of Veneto which is rich in beautiful mountain scenery, rivers and forests. The village is small and very charming and particularly characteristic of a riverside hamlet. There are many cute houses and an impressive castle which towers over the village. It is also forms part of the famous wine route Strada del Prosecco, which runs from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene, and the area is in general swarming with beautiful small villages, all of which are scenically situated amongst the rolling vineyards. The area has many good local restaurants and exciting wine shops. Cison di Valmarino is a good stopping place for those on their way out of Italy - but is also fine if you want to explore the still relatively unknown area, whilst being near enough to make the most of the opportunity for a quick trip to Venice.
