Due to the special climatic conditions at the lake the air around is particularly good for the respiratory system, so it is no coincidence, that the only centre in Italy that specialises in asthma treatments for children, is located here.
East of the lake you will find the mountain range CADINI Misurina, which is part of the Dolomites. You can hike, mountain bike and explore the forests and mountains with the most amazing panoramas of the surrounding landscape. When the lake freezes over in the winter, you can admire polo horses galloping on the ice. Ice skating speed games are often organised here in winter.
