The town has both and old and new part, and the old town is still partially surrounded by the old city wall, which dates from the 15th century. In the small winding streets you will find many shops, restaurants, bars and grocery stores. The modern district offers among other things a really nice little harbour.
West of the city lies the beautiful lakeside promenade that stretches towards the town of Sirmione. Here there is ample opportunity for pleasant walks under the shade of trees while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. Once a week you can visit the exciting market which takes place here. From Peschiera you can also go on trips around the lake by bus or cross the lake by ferry to one of the many other quaint towns that lie along the lakeshore. Peschiera is also a great base for visits to Verona, Venice and Milan. Here is one of the only places on Lake Garda that has a train station with excellent train connections. Similarly, the town is a short distance from various attractions such as Gardaland and the water park Acqua Paradise.
