Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amista is a majestic mansion, constituting the framework for a hotel with unparalleled design. On your arrival you should be prepared for a culture shock of dimensions. The hotel is set up in a park of about 20,000 m², built in classical style with small cozy corners and a lovely pool.
The original villa dates back to the 1400s, but was rebuilt in its present form around the year 1750. A few years ago it was bought by the present owners, who started a huge work to bring the much dilapidated villa to its former glory, which has succeeded in perfection. The hotel opened its doors in 2005.

The owners came up with the difficult idea to decorate the place as a design hotel, which today provides the setting for a collection of modern art and Italian furniture design. Instead of a museum it is a hotel where the different master pieces are preserved. It is an exciting, and absolutely different experience to stay in this hotel.
The hotel is located just 10 km from Verona. A free shuttle bus operates to and from downtown several times during the day, also to the summer opera performances. The railroad passes in the immediate vicinity (without disturbing), unfortunately there is no longer a local station. The restaurant uses biological groceries from their own garden to prepare the local and regional recipes. In the wine cellar bar, wine tastings are organized quite regular. The Espace Byblos wellness centre offers more than 30 different beauty and health treatments. Furthermore the wellness centre is complemented by a sauna, gym, a Turkish steam bath and a hot tub. The hotel has a large lobby and reception, elevator, parking, spa and fitness center, restaurant, bar and a delightful park with a lovely outdoor pool.
The hotel has developed its own design series, and almost all furniture and textiles (except the artwork) comes from this series, developed by designer and architect Alessandro Mendini.
The hotel has 60 rooms and suites, all of them are extremely personal and very colorfully decorated. They all have telephone, Internet, satellite TV, air conditioning, minibar, safe and bathroom with shower / bathtub, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers for in the morning.
