This beautiful villa offers elegant accommodating in a most scenic setting. Villa Giona is also one of the most renowned wineries in the Valpolicella region and is only approx. 15-20 minute drive from the centre of Verona.
The villa dates back to the 1700's and is owned by the very likeable and hospitable Signore Paolo Saletti and his family. The family bought the place a few years ago and have decorated the main building and the wings like a first class hotel. The villa is surrounded by the large and well-maintained park with fountains, statues and small lakes, and last but not least, the important vineyards.

Swiming pool and surroundings
You can enjoy a swim in the large rectangular swimming pool a few metres from the villa, which offers views of the vineyards and the park. There are some uneven stone steps on the grounds which lead to the pool, so for this reason we don't recommend the place for people with disabilities. The palace part itself has not changed much since the last renovation which took place in the 1940's - a time when money was scarce, even in these parts, which is why some might find some of the colour choices and style a little dated.
Wine tasting and dinner
The wine produced on site is one of the most prestigious in Valpolicella and is manufactured jointly with the producer Allegrini, who is known all over the world. There is a wine bar in one of the castle towers where you can sample different wines from the area. Both wine tasting and dinner must be arranged and paid for upon arrival.
Breakfast is served on the covered terrace overlooking the large courtyard in the summer. In winter, on the other hand you can eat in one of the living rooms with a fireplace, where it is also possible to eat dinner by prior arrangement with the owner. There is a huge fireplace from the 1700's which also doubles as a barbeque for special occasions.
You can relax and enjoy several communal common areas in the villa including a large and impressive library with a great book collection. You will soon feel at home here and in some ways like a guest of the noble family as you stroll the long corridors and large rooms. The service is very friendly and personal and this of course makes you feel quickly at home.
Neat rooms
Are rooms are tidy and very simply decorated, but they are also very different. The rooms are located in the main building, in the two wings, and a few rooms are upstairs in the loft. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning, a mini-bar, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a shower or bath and hairdryer. There's even a bathrobe and slippers in all rooms upon arrival.
