Il Borghetto is a small village dating from the 1400's, located in the middle of the river Mincio, which until a few years ago, only consisted of water mills.
This charming borgo became available for sale in the late 1990's and the owners fell totally in love with its charm. They decided to renovate the old mill houses and turn them into charming holiday apartments, with some small shops and a restaurant.

Today Il Borghetto is one of the most romantic and picturesque places near Lake Garda, which is only 10 km away and Verona is only approximately 30 km away. You will find several restaurants in town, and a few shops, and the town of Valeggio is just about 1 km away. One should be aware that there are many tourists in high season
Great emphasis has been placed on preserving the old water mill, and the wheel can be seen from many of the apartments as a special feature. From the apartments you will hear the sound of the river flowing around the clock, for some it might help to send you to sleep.
You have the choice to have breakfast on the terrace of the café or in your room. It can be delivered to your room for a small additional fee. The Borghetto has a reception which is open mornings and late afternoons, a small village with a few shops and the cafe/restaurant where breakfast or dinner is available. There are a few spaces on site for parking and you will need a permit from reception. If this is full, there are other car parks in the area nearby.
The apartments come in various sizes and are scattered around the various buildings in the village either on the ground or first floor. Many have a loft with additional sleeping space which is connected to the lounge via a ladder and most apartments are split level. We don't therefore recommend them for people with disabilities or very young children.
All apartments are very tastefully decorated, with the emphasis placed on maintaining the medieval village atmosphere. One has a fireplace, and another has a small private terrace which goes out over the river.
