Hotel Italia is a really great hotel for the price, and it's within walking distance of the town square (if you can call it that) with the market, the arena, etc.
The staff is kind and speak English.
Indoor garage, but park outside by the hotel, while you're checking in, because they need to know whether you're driving a large or small car, since the parking bays have different sizes, and it costs a bit.
There's also a small restaurant on the roof, where we ate a couple of times, and it was very good. That is of course, a matter of opinion.

Good footwear, because it is within walking distance 10-12 minutes, so most people will walk.

The hotel just lied a little walk away from the historical centre. The car could be parked in a closed off parking basement, so you didn't need to empty the car. We lived at the top in a 4-man room. It was a bit dark and worn, but worked fine for a single night. Would live there again, should the road bring us past it.

Recommendations for future guests

Verona is lovely and cultural town with good shopping options. Good town to stop by on the way down through Europe. Gives a good pre-taste of Italy's joy's.
