Positioned in the middle of the exhilarating historic centre of Abbadia San Salvatore, this apartment is off to a head start just based on the exterior. But that is nothing compared to the surprise that awaits you upon entering. The personal style of furnishings is exquisite and everything blends together perfectly.
The floors are exceptionally well maintained and covered in old terracotta of the sort that improves with age. Of course the ceilings are also perfect with exposed worm-eaten beams and terracotta. The furniture is exquisite and in perfect taste. Here is an elegant balance between the old and the new. The walls, floors, ceilings and antique furniture gives you the old, and the modern comes from the magnificent kitchen and marble bathroom with a glass wall in the large shower cabin. The kitchen is also unusually well equipped for a rental apartment. It includes a gas cooker, oven, dishwasher, plenty of crockery, glasses and other utensils.

The living room features a fireplace, sofa bed (which can be used by one or two children under 12), a great kitchen and a small dining table. The living room leads past the bathroom into the bedroom with a four-poster bed. There is also a flat screen TV with DVD player and stereo system with speakers in every room. The apartment is located in the outermost row of houses in the historic centre, you have a view from the balcony overlooking the valley and the hills.
Great appartment, lots of space. Nicely equipped kitchen. Beautiful view with sunrise from the balcony. We picked up the key in an office, and we got good information about trips we could go on. However, we were missing information about how to get rid of our trash, and it was not possible to get hold of a map over town either. Wi-Fi worked well.
We had eleven days in San Salvatore, and the small romantic apartment was the perfect setting for our stay. The decoration was lovely and consistent, the facilities appropriate and the comfort good. A couple of armchairs in the living room would have been nice, instead of the not-that-comfortable sofa bed, but besides that, the apartment was really nice. However you have to consider two things, if you are booking a room here: 1) There's a powerful lamp, which lights up every night at around eight or nine, to illuminate the town wall, which at the same time illuminate the otherwise nice balcony, so it's not that lovely so sit out there. Too bad! 2) Apparently, underneath the apartment there's a gathering place for teenagers, and they are quite noisy down there. They can keep talking (almost shouting) until long after midnight, and it can be difficult to fall asleep in the apartment, because of them. But besides these two nuisances, we would like to recommend the apartment to couples, who's looking for a nice place to be on vacation in central Tuscany.
Fine location in the medieval part of town. Lacking reception. We arrived to a cold and moist apartment with no heating. It took 3 days to fix. No adapter to the heating system, toaster or hair dryer. The hair dryer didn't warm up at all.
Very beautiful apartment, spacious, big room, modern bathroom, kitchen and living room are well decorated. Beautiful, small balcony with view over the valley. Very comfortable, once we had the heating fixed. Good location for visiting the valley and nearby villages. Far, far away from Siena and too far from Florence, but there is a lot to visit in the surrounding area.
My husband and I and our barely 2 year-old daughter lived a week in Casa La Vite. Really wonderful and charming, small apartment in the old part of town with a lovely balcony with plenty of shadow, along with wine leafs, which was amazing in 35 degrees (C). Lovely, big fridge and well equipped kitchen, despite its small size. New bathroom and bedroom with a lovely, big bed. Only minus was the kids bed, which had a pretty uncomfortable bottom, which made our daughter prefer sleeping with us in our bed. It needed to be changed. Can warmly recommend the apartment to others, who seek to live in a small and non-touristed town. We think that we were the only ones! Very authentic and not as "well groomed" as you experience in other places in Tuscany.
