The place positively surprised us. We stayed in an apartment in two storeys above the restaurant. Especially the hospitality from Nello and his staff. We were always met with kindness and a big "ciao" and a big smile. The pool is the centre, and here you meet with the other guests on a daily basis. There's lots of room and sunbeds. The pool was clean and heated. Especially the evening menu, with four courses of the most delicious ingredients and a very welcoming a la gourmet restaurant, was very exciting. Overall 25 euro and half price for children. There's two courses to chose from... very delicious, and it was too bad the one day, where we were on a trip, and had to eat out. We got breakfast each day for 6 euros and half price for children. Nice selection in the buffet.
The place is suitable for relaxation, but with room for children to play. No snobbery, amongst the other guests. Good place, which is centrally located in proportions to a lot of exciting towns. Cartona can be recommended to visit. For us, this is the real Tuscany, and even our children of 11 and 13 want to go back next year. We had an apartment with kitchen and fridge, so we could provide ourselves with cold drinks and lunch. We are going to visit Nello and his family again many times.
We only visited Arezzo very shortly... Cortona has to be experienced.
