A holiday in this old stone farmhouse might make you not wanna go home anymore. The villa is located ca. 3 km. outside the charming village of Poggio d'Ancona in the Casentino valley. The farmhouse has a long and fascinating history going back to when it belonged to the nearby Chitignano slot and the noble Ubertini family. Besides this the villa is right next to Via Romea , a famous old path that pilgrims walked on foot from Germany and the Nordic countries to come to Rome.
Located the heart of the natural park Foreste Casentinesi, far away from city stress and polluted air. The villa is surrounded by a large lush garden with beautiful, tall pine trees and with appealing swimming pool (9x4 meters, 120 cm. deep) with around a wooden deck as a natural gathering point. Children can have fun on the playground, and have their competitive instincts triggered by a ping pong or table tennis-table, on the badminton court or on the small soccer field. Do not forget to pick your fresh vegetables from the garden for your first Tuscan dinner. You will be surprised how a tomato really tastes.
Podere Le Macchie is located in the eastern part of Tuscany and can be reached via a 2km. long road through the woods. Have a stop in the nearby village of Subbiano(10 km.) to do your shopping. Visit the beautiful cultural city of Arezzo (20 km.). There is always something to do for both large and small, with a rich selection of restaurants, cafés, elegant shops and cultural events.
You will feel at home easily, surrounded by quaint and rustic furniture that fits like a glove into the surrounding countryside. At the same time you have access to all kinds of modern amenities: free Wi-Fi, CD player, hairdryer, satellite TV, dishwasher and more. The owners are energy conscious and have installed solar panels on the roof. The two (!) Kitchens are fully equipped with everything you need and then some, and with all four bathrooms, you avoid standing in line. The villa is about 225 m2 in size and comprises three floors. On the ground floor you will find a lovely furnished porch at the entrance, a living / dining room with open fireplace, comfortable sofas and a TV, a kitchen (equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, electric coffee maker, Italian coffee maker, toaster, blender and juicer) two bedrooms with sofa, fireplace, satellite TV, a kitchen more, a bathroom with shower and a laundry room with washing machine and freezer. From the living room on the first floor you have access to a double room on the second floor via an internal staircase. Note that the two lower floors are connected together via an external staircase.
