Il Casale Etrusco is an ancient farm that has been restructured and renovated into 26 individual apartments. Located in two buildings set around a characteristic square and with one extra independent house and a swimming pool, it resembles a small Tuscan village.
All apartments are restored and furnished in accordance with Tuscan building traditions so there is an authentic atmosphere here. There is plenty of outdoor furniture in the farms gardens so you can soak up the atmosphere whilst relaxing and dining outdoors.

The beauty of this location is that whilst you feel immersed in the countryside here, you are only 3.5 km from the beach. The farm is approx. 8 km from the small town of Bolgheri, much loved and treasured by wine lovers. Il Casale Etrusco stands on a plain, and the flat area is excellent for biking. A main road runs 150 m from the farm.
On the farm you will find a reception, a swimming pool (swim cap is obligatory), a car park, a playground for children and barbeque facilities. In Donoratico (2 km) there are shops including a supermarket, doctors and a pharmacist. Rooms have satellite TV, a safety deposit box, garden chairs and a table outside. Wi-fF is available in the reception but not in the apartments.
First of all, thanks a lot for my holiday arrangement, it was very nice and pleasant time in all aspects.
The location in Bolgheri is in centre of most beautiful wines you can have like Ornealia, San Guido, Argentiniera, not far away San Gimignano and Vernacia, as well Florence and Frescobaldi might have a good map for investment in rare bottles of this precious gift.
Then location itself gives a good connection to one day trips and it satisfy anybody whom like to see a combination of nice landscape view with extraordinary architecture of wide choice museums, churches, galleries in Florence, Siena, Pisa or small quite cities like Massa Maritima, San Gimignano, Lukka, Voltera.
It was also a chance to visit one day but longer trip with nice target on the end like Elba Island or Assisi.
Regarding the places for kids and some swimming perspective in location there is really nice swimming pool, what gives you a chance to take a day break in journey by watching kids in safe area and reading an interesting book meantime. Regarding the see beaches I do recommend one place nearby Piombino Sterpaia – where you can park in-between the trees your car na you have like a 50 m to long sand clean public beach.
If I start about food and wine experience I shall recommend small restaurants hidden in short streets with charming atmosphere or even eating in a house by getting Toskany ham & melon plus rocket salad & tomatoes with oil and vinegre and of course very good wine from family farm Vincenzi di Vaira located in 15 minutes from living place. I do not say anything obvious like local cheese.
One word saying – you should not rush in Tuscany where the clock is going in different manner , to have a deep feeling of this what you see and taste and to be sure from the beginning that this is the beginning and you ought to live a lot for next and next and next trip.
Thank you for the advice and till next time.
