Bucine is a nice little town. The medieval castle was built to gain control over the Ambra valley and protect the strategically important trade route between Valdarmo and Siena.

When you visit Bucine it is worth a visit to inspect the painting: Madonna delle Grazie, which hangs to the left of the altar in the church Chiesa dei SS. Apollinare and the castle Galatrona. During a visit to Bucine you will soon realise why Tuscany is known for its harmonious and relaxing lifestyle.

City Festivals

- Held annually in the city is the 'Festa di Primavera' in late April, which is largely a gastronomic event. Here you can taste many different dishes that are famous within the region and at the same time, you can be entertained by theatre, music, sports and other performances.

- During July you can experience the 'Festa della vecchia battitura di grano' in Bucine, which celebrates the ancient threshing methods of wheat where you will see a grand procession of old farm machinery. Here, there is also the opportunity to taste local products and get a good glass of wine.

- During mid September, there is the 'Festa e Fiera San Salvatore', which is a series of smaller events to glorify (among other things), polenta, wine and anonymous authors. There are card tournaments and local games, concerts in the open air and dance in the city squares, etc.

- There is also a market day every Wednesday in Bucine.
