There is a market held here every Wednesday, one also in Empoli on Thursday, Vinci on Friday and Montelupo on Saturday. Montelupo, a much quainter town is not far and worth a visit to appreciate its charms.
Staying in the triangle between Siena, Pisa and Florence, you have great opportunities for interesting excursions. Florence is only 29 km away, and if you don’t want to drive there (and if you know Florence you don’t!) you can drive the few kilometres to Montelupo Fiorentino station and catch a train.
