Villa Borri is located in the heart of Casciana Terme in quiet surroundings and just a few minutes' walk from the town square. Here you can shop at the local merchants or dine at one of the many good restaurants where you can choose between the traditional rustic menus, seafood or more innovative places. You can hang out at the coffee shop just around the corner and enjoy a cappuccino or espresso (or something stronger) under the shade of the parasols.
Villa Borri is really a mansion from the 1700's which has now been completely modernized and revamped from the basement to the attic. The basement is now a wellness centre, but the place's great force lies in its location next to the main square with many (good) restaurants just a stone's throw from the door. This is where the locals from the nearby towns gather especially at weekends during the spring or autumn. There is no rush hour as such and time here passes slowly.

Whether you come here with your better half or whether you bring the children, relaxation is the keyword. You won’t find sports or other activities at Villa Borri, and there is not a pool with a slide, but you can take a relaxing dip in the outdoor thermal pool, located on the other side of the street which is heated to a temperature of 35.7 ° all year round. It is however, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is only open from 10:00 to 19.00 in July and August and until 17:00 the rest of the year. Here you can enjoy the hot healing temperature in the colder seasons which is really a treat, more so than in the summer when you are more likely to seek a cool pool. Families will find this a good place for a short stop, but there is not much to keep the kids busy for a longer period.
Casciana Terme is famous for its spas and Villa Borri you can get the maximum benefit from the baths. The apartment is in fact part of the Spa Terme Villa Borri, where, for a fee, and in beautiful, atmospheric setting, you can get every imaginable (and unimaginable) health and beauty treatment. The baths are located in the old manor house on the other side of the street where they specialize in medical treatments.
Casciana Terme is nice but not huge, so you'll probably want to go on some excursions to experience more of the beautiful region where olive oil and wine is part of everyday life, both the consumption and production of. We recommend an excursion to Lari, an ancient fortified town with double walls, which is still inhabited by many locals not including the tourists in hotels. From Casciana Terme you could also include a trip to Pisa (35 km) and Volterra (38 km). Florence is around. 60 km from here, but is best reached by taking the train so that car parking and access to environmental zone will not be a problem.
The apartments are located partially in the main villa and partly in the old buildings Le Case dei contadini, where the farm peasants originally had their homes. They are extremely well-appointed, perhaps a bit showy, but with respect for the traditional Tuscan style; floors are in terracotta, classic furniture in exquisite materials and beautiful, warm colours. The apartments can accommodate 2 - 6 people and are located either on the ground floor, on the first or second floor (no elevator). They are spacious and equipped with air conditioning, a mini-bar, a safety deposit box, satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet access. There is also covered parking for each apartment. After some years, when the villa was managed by the Region of Tuscany, in 2014, the owners have decided to self-manage it, which we regard as a clear step forward. This is the same family that successfully operates the nearby Agriturismo Le Querciole - they have a natural talent for hospitality and have taken care of that with (economic) advantage can eat both breakfast or brunch in the city's central café. Do you like their knowledge and service to make a reservation in the city's restaurants; they ensure that the message about what you like and want to eat comes through no matter how good the waiter's English.

The apartment could have been cleaned. Nothing had been done, and it was extremely dark.
The service was really great, they were very kind and accommodating.
It would be a big advantage for the place to get a pool. That would have made us recommend it to others, and consider booking it again ourselves, but with a dark apartment, no small garden or terrace and no pool, 14 days was a long time to spend at the place.
It's a bit unfair to only give 3 stars/average, but since 4 stars says "very satisfied", it can only be 3.
