Hotel Borgo Scopeto Relais dates back to the 1200s and ever since the first stone was laid, experienced a long and interesting history, where the Sozzini Dynasty dominated for over five centuries. Both the presence of history and an authentic atmosphere, that are typical for a farm with a vineyard, is very noticeable. This place is perfectly adapted for people who like nature, near to interesting cities, a charming ambiance, good food and self-produced quality wine.
Green as far as the eye
Siena province is known for its beauty, and is a relative small area, often documented on film, in books and advertisements. Here you find, besides an enchanting landscape, the medieval towns like Siena, Greve, San Gimignano and Florence close by. The stunning landscapes invite for excursions, like hiking and biking along the small roads. The vineyard covers 500 hectares of arable land. In addition to the vine, the farm has thousands of olive trees that enhances the rural and lush impression. Here you also find a secret garden, which was built in the 1800s and served as a place where one could hunt for falcons. Today you can visit the garden and see the many special plants that grow here.
A day at the pool
In the large garden you will find a lovely pool area where you have a saltwater pool and sun beds. The hotel also has a wellness center with small indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath. Here you can order different kinds of delighting treatments and products used, produced on site, and based on wine, olive oil and honey. Sauna and Turkish bath is payable locally. If you would like to exercise, you can challenge your holiday company for a game of tennis.

The restaurant is named La Tinaia and the chef named Angelo. His sorrow is to make sure you eat well, and not only the taste of the food is impeccable, as well as the wine matches his menu choice. Since the farm produces wine. You should make sure to order a bottle for dinner, or attend the wine tastings that are held occasionally, either at the hotel or in the "cantina" located a few kilometres down the road in Magliano. Should you want to try something different, visit one of the nearby restaurants or trattorias, or head to Siena, where there is a large selection of everything you need and then some.

Since the winery is very popular and respected, you can expect some events during the year at the Borgo. Thinking about getting married, you might consider organising your wedding here. There are cycle routes nearby, and you can rent bikes (the first hour is free).

The rooms are bright and cozy
There are a total of 58 rooms in various categories. The differences between our two selected room types, Classic and Deluxe, is not that large. Both rooms are for two adults and a baby and have a double bed or two twin beds and a bathroom with shower or bath. All are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, wi-fi, storage box, minibar, telephone and hairdryer.
