Hotel Tirreno is in many ways an exception to the rule. Whilst most Tuscan coastal destinations' modern concrete structures remain desolate out of season, Castiglioncello is a true coastal town with permanent residents all year round. Hotel Tirreno is anything but newly constructed, and indeed the hotel dates back to the early 1900's.
Hotel Tirreno is a good choice whatever way you look at it, because you are not only in the middle of a vibrant town with shops and numerous restaurants, you are also only 60 metres from the seafront and beach, and the town's train station is only 350 metres away. It's therefore easy to arrive by train, and if you choose to drive yourself, then there is free car parking on-site.

Castiglioncello is characterized by its abundant vegetation, and the Hotel Tirreno indeed has very great green surroundings with pine trees, oleanders, palms and many other decorative plants all around. The terrace at the back faces onto the large shaded garden, which maintains a comfortable temperature even on the hottest summer days, but that also means that there is a very limited sea view.
The hotel is not big as there are only 22 rooms, but there is nevertheless a restaurant offering both typical Tuscan dishes from the country and seafood dishes. All the modern comforts you would expect are included as follows: air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, safety deposit box, a mini-bar, free parking, free bike hire and a bar and a restaurant.
