The southern part of Tuscany is full of surprises for those who have never been before. At the same time it also continues to fascinate well seasoned travellers to Tuscany.
The farm produces olive oil and several types of wine including the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and the ever popular Chianti. They also take the risk and produce the traditional capricious vinsanto. This wine, which in taste ranges from anything akin to a dry sherry to a sweet dessert wine, is made by leaving the grapes to dry on straw mats for months until they approach the raisin stage. Then they are pressed and the juice is poured on to small dishes called caratelli. These are sealed and laid down for years. During this time the maturing process takes place and there is no way of controlling it. The making of vinsanto requires both great skill and a good deal of luck, but when successful it is more than worth the trouble! Grappa is also produced here for those who prefer stronger liquids.

If you need exercise we should add that you are very welcome to take part in the olive harvest in November. If you want a less strenuous kind of activity you can help yourself to vegetables and herbs from the garden as these are freely available to guests.
There is a wine cellar by the house where wines from the farm and other produce is for sale (however, we recommend that you don't try to take entire cows home with you). The farm also has a restaurant and a lovely big swimming pool with terrace and garden. If you want to try out another restaurant we recommend "Il Rabarbaro", which is situated only 1300 meters from Palazzo Bandino. The place is found in relaxed and rural surroundings with many tourist destinations a few kilometers away and close to Chianciano's spas.
The main building of Palazzo Bandino houses the bedrooms and apartments (on the first and second floor). Another four buildings with apartments are located within 50 metres from the main building. All the accommodation is equipped with air-conditioning.

A wonderful place in the heart of vineyards of the southern Tuscan Cianciano Terme. Very nice spot for daily trips to the southern tuscany.
Very friendly and kind staff and not to mention the hostess Martha. Good facilities at the hotel.
We have for the third time stayed one week at Palazzo Bandino, and that tells something about how we feel about this place. We have had an apartment the other times we have been here, but this time we booked so late, that we had to book a room (even though we booked in the beginning of January). It was not a big room but it was ok. The sheets was changed every other day and the towels every day. Marta is a great hostess, and everybody are so sweet and open-minded. You really feel welcome - it feels cosy and has a homely feeling towards it with coaches in the reception, where the house cat Pio often is a sleep.
The breakfast is served from 8:30, and there is everything you want. We ate - like the other years - every night at Palazzo Bandinos restaurant. You pay 25 euro and then you get like 3-4 dishes of food, water, 1 bottle of wine ( two persons), coffee, cake and dessert wine. The food is typical authentic . We were asked several of nights to taste the different wine made at the farm. In total a good experience and you do not have to drive afterwards. That's a plus. There is also the opportunity that you can go for a walk in the area, or visit some of the many towns and attractions with out driving to far. Palazzo Bandino arranges some events during the week, which you can sign up to. It can be recommended to by the wine and olive oil from the farm with you home.
We are coming back for sure!
Excellent guidance right from arrival about everything there is to see nearby.
The staff were very polite, especially Marta.
The 2 entrances of the appartment is an unusual detail but a very good idea, as you can go from the pool into the room without passing through the lobby.
Very peaceful location with a wonderful panorama at sunrise and sunset. All in all very recommendable.
Fam. Cannuli with 2 children.
Very warm service, clean accommodation, nice location, perfect conditions for a relaxing holiday
A very fine vineyard with kind staff. We were well received and got a very good service, despite the fact that we arrived very late Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't open every evening, but then again, we were there very late in the year.
But we had rented a Cipresso - 2 rooms. 4 beds. Then it was just shopping and cooking for yourself.
Very fine apartment, with what you need on your holiday.
We were received with great kindness, even though we arrived during siesta. We were shown our annex, which was lovely and big, with own terrace and nice view.
The whole family was helpful and kind.
It is possible to eat in the nearby city about 5 km away, but the food at Palazzo Bandino was excellent, at a reasonable price (25 euros). We ate there every day!
