Great comfort in the heart of the city
Grand Hotel Cavour is a great example of how old historic features are successfully blended with a modern and contemporary style.
Although knowing officially it used to be a palace from the 12th century, we were a bit blown away when we entered the hotel. The exterior is interesting and beautiful, but coming in, the interior just really took our breath away. Reception area features a charming atmosphere with lovely marble floors and stunning artworks all over the lobby. The stone columns and arches and the frescoed arcades are so extremely well preserved, it is like walking into a museum.
Location wise, the hotel offers a perfect location for those who like to be in the centre of Florence, where every sight is within easy reach. You find the Duomo and the famous Piazza della Signora at 200 meters from the hotel. Ponte Vecchio and the Galleria degli Uffizi are just a few minutes walk. And of course, around the hotel, you can easily find nice trattorias, bars and shops.
More than complete for a city hotel
The hotels services and facilities are very rich for a city hotel. The actual true gem is hidden on the rooftop. Here you find a lounge bar with the best view over Florence and you can nearly touch the Duomo from the terrace. This is the place where you can start your day with a latte macchiato or finish the day with a lovely cocktail before you head out to the restaurant. All throughout the hotel you can experience this relaxed atmosphere and also the American bar and restaurant downstairs are offers the same contemporary style integrated into the historic backdrop. The restaurant offers a lovely cuisine and the bar, in the same area, is open until midnight.
After a day of intensive sightseeing you do not only have the option of the services stated above, Grand Hotel Cavour also offers a small wellness space where you can find a Turkish steam bath, internal relax room and a fitness area. Parking your car at the hotel is an option but be prepared to pay 42,- euro per day.

In total the hotel features 103 elegant rooms. The rooms are built in different styles but all blending the contemporary style with the classic style in a great way.
