We spent a wonderful relaxing 6 days here. The house had everything we needed and there were no hidden surprises. Our hosts that met us at check in were very helpful and we were able to use the information pack and maps to plan our days out. It is perfectly situated close enough to town to walk to restaurants/supermarket/cafes and has a stunning view from the front balcony. The pool was far too cold to go into at this time of year (though the kids did try it!), but it was great to eat al fresco and enjoy the scenery and peace.
Greve in Chianti is perfect for families. With playgrounds, beautiful countryside for walks and lots of restaurants, you can't go wrong. Definitely worth hiring a car. We visited nearby markets in Panzano, walked to Montefioralle, day-tripped by car to Siena and day-tripped to Florence by bus - easy to buy tickets at 2 local restaurants/cafes. The information shop is really useful. They told us that to visit a winery, you need to book first and don't just turn up! I've fallen in love with the rolling hills of Tuscany and can't wait to go back!
