Castello di Montegonzi is a historic house from the Middle Ages. A wonderful and authentic atmosphere which invites you to total relaxation. A long way from your everyday's hustle and bustle.

H3> You are surrounded by history

The Chianti region has many quaint villages filled with history, and Montegonzi is no exception. The city has a history dating back to the Middle Ages, and Castello di Montegonzi was almost destroyed in 1629 in a twist between the families Ghibellini and Guelfi. The new owner has carefully restored the beautiful stone houses and recycled the old stones from the original houses. Anything to preserve the scenic and beautiful atmosphere that is present here on the hill.

Strategic location for a holiday

Since Castello di Monteconzi is situated between Siena and Florence, you can visit many interesting places and cities, such as San Gimignano, Certaldo and Monteriggioni, just to name a few. The charming Greve in Chianti is at your feet at ca.10km away, and if you fancy a walk in the woods, you can just embark and go out on the small paths and roads around your home. The forest is only about 1km. away. Shops, bars and restaurants are at about 6 km away, in the small town of Panzano. Throughout the area there is plenty of possibilites for activities for example, cycling, hiking, wine tasting and cooking workshops. If you want to take a guided tour, please contact the reception. Montegonzi is privileged with its own vineyards and olive groves. Bikes are for rent.

Relaxing days at the pool

You are surrounded in green as far as the eye can see. Just go and sit in one of the deck chairs in the common garden, and inhale the fresh scent of nature, calming your soul. There are umbrellas for those who want to cool off a bit in the shade, and tables for when it's time to enjoy for lunch. The outdoor pool lures inviting with its panoramic location, and is the perfect place to start and end the day. In the garden you also have access to a grill, which is particularly popular in the evening, when hunger begins to emerge. For those who want to do a little washing, there is a laundry machine at Castello di Montegonzi.

At Castello di Montegonzi you live in comfortable apartments in rustic Tuscan style with kitchenette. The apartments are located in different, smaller houses and all have private outdoor space to enjoy your meals in the open air. There is satellite TV and a fan in the apartments. Wi-Fi, you can access in the common rooms, at no extra cost. For those who want to stay in their own house, have a look at La Chiesetta, we present separately. This house was originally Castello di Montegonzis church.

We would advise you to make a stop in a few shops and get some basic supplies before you arrive at Castello di Montegonzi. That way you can really relax once you have parked your car at your holiday home. Sports cars are not recommended because of the roads in the area and the feet of the housing. There lives a caretaker on site who speaks English.
