Il Ragoncino is set amongst the lush green undulating hills of Toscana. Being just 20 minutes from Volterra and approximately an hour from the more famous cultural cities of Florence and Siena the opportunity to explore and absorb is extraordinary.
The farm which was built back in the 18th century was restored as recently as 2004. There are 10 apartments available to guests along with the 12x6 swimming pool with sun beds. Interestingly, the farm produces high quality olive oil and the owners sell their own label ‘Villa Opera’ wines

We had a great view. The apartment was spacious and the place was well kept and clean. Nice pool and pool-area. A friendly host. If you want to stay with a amazing view - then you will find it here. And as a bonus there is a small distance to Volterra!
I already knew this place was the right one, when I saw it online, if you want to visit a lot of places in Tuscany. There was so calm and quiet and cosy for our company of 6 people. We also met others from Hungary, who we hung out with. We are so satisfied with our choice, and recommend it to other people. Then there was Sebastian, who took care of the place and who is good at speaking English, we even got tips from him, regarding excursions and much more. Our apartment at the place was the biggest, and the bedroom in the dovecote had a lovely view.
We were well satisfied with out stay again. The weather was great. The view amazing. After Viktoria stopped, there has been new hosts every year. It is a shame.
Il Ragoncino is s a really lovely, small holiday place with a fantastic location in the middle of some of the most wonderful towns in Tuscany - Siena, Pisa, Volterra and San Gimignano lies within a short drive and Lajatico is only 5 km from the holiday apartment - here we found Italy's best pizza and ice cream. The town is also beautifully located.
The holiday place itself lies wonderfully atop a hill with a lovely view. The pool area is small but good - my 6 year-old daughter, however, would've liked a bit lower end of the pool, so she could reach the bottom (the lowest end was about 100cm).
The apartment we lived in lied in a small annex and was fine, but a bit small for 4 people. We didn't have an air condition, but there were nets in front of the windows so we could sleep with them open at night and not have to worry about insects getting in, so it was actually totally fine.
The kitchen was a bit too simple, the fridge didn't work optimally and had some trouble keeping food and such cold enough, which isn't very appropriate, when the nearest place to shop was location in Lajatico. There was also lacking proper closets for containing groceries in.
There was a staff member at the place a couple of hours every morning, and he was really sweet and helpful.
We weren't to the beach but other guests had been, and told us that there were a lot of good beaches within a short drive (under 1 hour).
We had a really lovely vacation at Il Ragnoncino, so I can definitely recommend the place, if you don't mind it being a bit too simple, because the location is fantastic.
If you want to get away from it all. This is the ideal place. Nearest (tiny) village is 5km away. The farmhouse is situated at the top of a hill with the most amazing views all round. The local village, Latajico, is perfect if you want a really rustic, simple meal at local prices (5 euros for a plate of pasta). Andrea Bocelli sat on the next table to us! The accommodation is no frills, nice and simple. But you're here for the scenery and the fact you can't hear or see any cars!
Absolutely perfect.
