Do you want an adventure in Medieval Tuscany? Well La Ferriera is just the place to stay with its 18th Century hamlet built around a water mill and an old iron mill. With a swimming pool and streams and waterfalls around, you have a choice of great bathing spots and a historic adventure to discover.

Fascinating Location

Only a short gravel road of approx. 200 metres separates this group of houses from Loro Ciuffenas medieval centre which is rich in history and medieval military architecture. In the town you can visit the museum in Palazzo Venturi, dedicated to the local artist Venturino Venturi. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants to explore in this atmospheric town. Loro Ciuffenna is situated about 40 km from Florence, 30 km from Arezzo and 50 from Siena for longer day trips.

Swimming pool and other facilities

You can take a dip in the lovely swimming pool in a splendid location in a green park in the grounds of La Ferriera. It is 14 x 7 metres (open between 1st May - 30th October), or you can bathe in the natural pool underneath the waterfall. You can even try to catch a fish here! There are also tennis courts, a reception and a communal laundry room on site. At certain times during the year La Ferriera runs a cooking school, wine tours, tennis lessons and tasting courses.

Restaurant on your doorstep

La Ferriera's own restaurant is a place where if you eat once, you are likely to return. It is on the ground floor in the converted stables, and you can choose from an extensive menu at reasonable prices. It has a warm traditional Tuscan setting and a relaxing ambience. If after a day of adventure in medieval Tuscany, you don't wish to stride too far, then you can enjoy a relaxing meal right here on your doorstep.

The spacious apartments

The apartments are spacious and well equipped and have been soundproofed so that you cannot hear the sound of the waterfall from inside. They are tastefully furnished and homely. Each apartment has satellite TV and all with the exception of 1 have a private patio and outdoor area. Note: The old Forge is up a slope and there are steps in several places around the grounds to reach the forge and the pool.
