Marina di Bibbona is Bibbona’s coastal town. The majority of the town has recently been purpose-built as a tourist resort, so you will find everything you need for a pleasant family seaside holiday here. In the 18th Century, a fort was built on the beach to defend the city from pirates and it is around this fort that the Marina has been developed.
Between the town and the 4 km-long beach is a lovely pine grove, where you can get some shade if the heat becomes too much for you. In the evening, the main street is closed off to traffic so you can wander around as the locals do stopping to look at the stalls or for an ice cream.
Excursions from here: The train station in Bolgheri is near to Marina di Bibbona and from here you can choose to go on excursions along the Tuscan railway tracks. One can also consider trips to the broad white beaches of Vada, the seaside resort Castiglioncello, the charming towns Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci and Massa Marittima, the noteworthy Volterra and San Gimignano or how about a boat trip out to the beautiful Elba (departure from Piombino - travel time approx. 1 hour).
