No compromise is necessary here. You have it all; a peaceful country setting and views, great pool, plenty of space, good apartments and a cosy town with a good choice of restaurants and shops, and a rich history nearby.

Perfect Location

The picturesque old farmhouse Borgo La Casaccia is located in the lovely rolling countryside in the heart of Tuscany. From here you can easily reach cities such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa and others. It's just 1300 metres to the medieval town of Montaione's historic centre with many restaurants and shops. For good shopping, you don't have to go far since the nearest supermarket (PAM) is only 1000 metres away, whilst you'll find a COOP in the centre of Montaione.

Outdoor areas with a pool and good places to stay

The farm is divided into 12 good apartments, most of which are located on the ground floor with a terrace in front of the door. Others are on the first or second floor, so they have access to tables and chairs around the garden (first come first served). You'll also find the pool area on two levels with both a large pool of approximately 25 x 5 metres (a little hard to say the exact size due to the irregular shape) and a smaller 10 x 5 meters with a shallow area for toddlers. The BBQ grill is here, of course, and also a playground and table tennis.

Information about the area

At the small reception you can get all sorts of information about everything possible in the area, and you can also buy delightful local wine, beer and cakes. There is a large room in the basement, where, from time to time tastings and other events are organised.

Wonderful Tusany

A wonderful and relaxing place just a few kilometres from Montaione with just 12 apartments. Easy to get to Florence, Siena and Pisa and at the same time have a base "in the country"
Good service from the reception and nice to know that there's wine, oil and honey to buy. Good kitchen and good service to be able to order grilled food delivered and collected at the apartment. Clean and fresh pool - but lots of families with children so expect there to be lots of life in the pool most of the day. Close to good shops and some restaurants in the village.

Great service, great place

Even though we arrived a bit before we could actually check in, we were welcomed immediately by the very friendly owner, who spoke English very well. Our apartment was coincidentally the only one, which wasn't ready yet - but we were invited to sit and wait in the garden. We did so, because it is a wonderful place with a fantastic view of the hilly Tuscan landscape. We were handed a compilation of papers with guidelines etc, but also recommendations on what one should visit in the area, where one could park in the towns, and lots of other useful information. A lovely welcome.
The place is really lovely and is meticulously cared for. All the sunbeds, garden tables, etc. get wiped off every morning, the pool gets cleaned and vacuumed, the slabs get sweeped, etc. The apartment was also nice and clean, and all the windows had permanent mosquito nets, which was lovely, even though there weren't THAT many mosquitoes there, since the place is located at the end of a crest, so it's a bit airy - which was lovely, when it was between 27 and 37 degrees.
All in all - a really great place with great service.
