Above the village of Montegonzi surrounded by thousands of olive trees is Borgo di Fontebussi, an ancient Roman hamlet that has been restored with great respect for the original features. The village is just a brisk walk away, and from Borgo di Fontebussi there are plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling in the breathtaking and wild Casentinodal.
Here, you are not far from Tuscany's major attractions, yet the location of Borgo di Fontebussi remains one the least hit tourist parts of this wonderful region. Here you are close to nature and many fascinating Romanesque village churches, majestic castles and the legendary monasteries such as Camaldoli and Vallombrosa.

The farm has a beautiful swimming pool of 25 x 12.5 metres, from where you can enjoy unspoilt views of the countryside. There are sun loungers and parasols around the pool and also a small bar serving fresh drinks which also offers a lunch menu if you choose to stay at the pool all day. In addition to the large pool there is also a small children's pool with a fountain in the middle. The farm has a reception, mountain bike hire and private parking. There is a small grocery store in Montegonzi (about 1 km) with basic supplies and a larger supermarket in Montevarchi (7 km).
Borgo di Fontebussi also has a great restaurant with a typical Tuscan menu where you can dine in the evenings and at lunchtimes on special occasions. Once a week you can join in an organised evening with live music and a special menu, or you can choose to dine eleswhere. Because of the idyllic location, weddings are sometimes hosted here, but they are in a separate area to where the normal guests dine. In the town of Montegonzi, you will find another special restaurant 'Osteria di Montegonzi' which is popular with the locals and has a varied and exciting menu!
Since we are talking about an old farmhouse, all the apartments obviously different from each other in size and shape. Despite of the rustic touch throughout, they are well equipped with satellite television and air conditioning. Some even have a private outdoor area - garden or terrace - with table and chairs.

We had an amazing stay at Fontibussi - delicious food and super kind staff.
It would have been nice if there were some regular cleaning at the apartment, maybe 2-3 times during a week of stay. Otherwise a great stay!!
We had an amazing stay at Fontibussi. The place were just perfect and had everything we needed. Amazing view, especially from the restaurant, which serves delicious food btw! The staff is kind and friendly and this is the perfect place to stay for families! We will definitely come again!
Wonderful place in the middle of Tuscany with high service and standard. There is nothing within walking distance, however. So you can't just take a walk. But the surroundings are fantastic!
We have 2 fantastic weeks at Borgo di Fontebussi. It more than met our expectations. Wonderful, generally well equipped apartments.
Ours could, however, had a better outdoor area, but we knew already knew that. You could order freshly baked bread every morning and there was delicious food for reasonable prices in the restaurant. Our girls (aged 5 and 8) played with a lot of other Danish children. It was a really good pool and there was lots of places to lie. The hotels lies 12-15 mins away from a big COOP and is within a reasonable driving distance of wonderful towns such as Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Siena, etc. All in all a wonderful experience with total relaxation and good trips.
We had a wonderful vacation at the Fontebussi, all of us liked it a lot (we where a family with on kid 4 years and a grandmother). The flat was nice and clean and the view is really nice. Also the weather was great around 30 degrees and sunny. The pool area very nice the pool was a little bit cold the first days but became warmer...
The staff was kind and service minded, the food in the restaurant great.
Mos likely we will come back one day.
