This is an ideal destination for those who are looking for a holiday which is a mix of art, history and nature and with a great pool and play area for the children. It is also a famous wine town with much to please the palate of gastronomy lovers!

The wine tours

The area of Montepulciano is famous for its fine wines such as Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Noble di Montepulciano and therefore jumping on a wine tour is a must. That said, wine is not the only attraction of the area as Montepulciano was considered the pearl of the 1500's which is reflected in its outstanding renaissance architecture.

Space to spread out or be together

The Villa is a building of equal grandeur with high arcs dividing spacious living areas, wooden beam ceilings and terracotta floors with furnishings that are comfortable but not out of place. The Villa has been divided in such a way that by utilizing the 3 kitchens and separate entrances, it could be ideal for groups of friends wanting to holiday together while still being able to maintain a certain degree of independence.

Whilst the children play in the garden

In the garden there is a good sized swimming pool (12 x 6) and childrens play area with swings and slides. For those who enjoy a little adventure in their holiday it is also possible to hire mountain bikes with which to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Review of Villa Poggiarone

The house is very hard to find - and I hereby encourage In-Italia to update the directions for GPS coordinates as soon as possible. The current description can not be used to find the house.
The house is simply SO beautiful, it's the finest view all around and the scenery is just so beautiful! The house is big and there were nice sleeping places for all 11 of us.
The house has 3 kitchens and it is nice with 3 full fridges. It is only the kitchen on the ground floor that is equipped with kitchenware, but here it is also so nice enough for everyone. There is a washing machine for free use, it is also a plus.
(We found the house with clean dishcloths, dishcloths, washing dishes for the dishwasher, oil, salt / pepper etc., barbecue charcoal and washing powder - nice to not have to start over with this on arrival)
The outdoor areas are nice open and the pool is large and well maintained.
It's a mystery to me not to spend a few hundred euros to get this place up and running. It has the potential to be absolutely amazing, but falling on boring things like:
Bad outdoor furniture - barely enough for us 11. The two worn plastic tables were held together by gaffa tape and fell apart each time we moved around them.
Drainage from the bathroom on the first that has clearly made water damage on the ground floor, and now gives mold-smell in one bedroom and bathroom.
Many wildflowers in the kitchen (because of the farm you're next to, but that's very annoying) Maybe you could invest in the insect net for windows and doors on the ground floor?
All in all, we enjoyed the stay, but it can not be more than 3 stars from us.
