It is in the southern part of Tuscany with around 40 km to the fine sandy beaches that can be reached in around 30 minutes by car. This charming little farm is located in a peaceful setting just 1700 metres outside of the small medieval town of Monterotondo Marittimo.
The farm is run by the hard working Raffaella and Graziano who produce a wonderful olive oil and grow many types of fruit and vegetable on their farm, and prepare their own pickled vegetables and fruits. This area is characterised by its richness in minerals and metallic deposits in the ground, and for this reason there are many sulphur springs and mines around. The same natural source supplies the farm with energy for heating the house during the colder seasons.

All their well-maintained apartments have a private terrace or veranda as well as a table and chairs, a parasol and a barbeque, so you have the choice to eat in and dine on your own patio, or stroll into town and find a cosy local eatery if you don't feel like cooking. The walk to town is uphill, but that's a good thing as the downhill walk home is easier on a full stomach. That way you do all the hard work before you eat ... and not after!
In the garden you will find a good size pool of 7 x 16 feet (140 cm deep) surrounded by sun loungers and parasols, which is a great joy if you do not wish to drive to the coast. There is also a hydro-massage bath in addition to the pool, and a gazebo so you can stay in the shade when it gets too hot! If you want to take a dip in the sea however, it is around 40 km to the fine sandy beaches of Baratti Bay, Populonia and Follonica. The locals say it's around a 30-minute drive to the coast.
