We had rented the entire farm, which was absolutely ideal.
When we arrived we were received by the host of Il Borgo and her son, who could speak English.
We were welcomed with home baked cake for all 25 people, so we felt us very welcome.
At the time of departure, there were only the couple who owns Il Borgo and it was a little more complicated as they didn't speak English.
Recommendations for future guests
Borgo Il Massera is a great place to stay if you want to explore the west side of Toscana. Piombino, San Gimignano, Sienna, Volterra, Lucca and Pisa are all within very short drive distance.
Please don't forget the town of Monteverdi Marittimo, which is located near the farm. There is a small, local foodstore, that doesn't look much form the outside, but have a great variation of local ham, cheese, wine and pastas.
