We stayed a week at Borgo di Colleoli with three children of 2, 6 and 9. We were very positively surprised over the place, which is a bit hidden on a hill. We stayed in a very big and nice apartment, however with a bit special terrace, and enjoyed the very lovely restaurant every evening. The food was absolute the best, the atmosphere was so cosy, the service friendly, but perhaps a bit slow - but what difference does that make, when you're sitting in a farmyard surrounded by old stone walls, and can catch a glimpse of the sunset in the background. There are two pool areas in each end of the resort, one of them a bit smaller and with a pool for children - the other one, huge and with a beautiful location between the trees. We were a bit excited to see, how child-friendly it was, since the place, at our arrival, - despite it's size - seemed very quiet, and it said in the arrival mail, that water toys wasn't allowed in the two pools. But it was no problem in practice. The guests at the place was a good mixture of couples with and without children, and there were room for everyone, each with their needs. All in all we had a very lovely week!

Palaia as a holiday destination

The town itself isn't very exciting, nor is San Miniato, which is located nearby. But the place is central in proportion to lots of Tuscan towns, so it didn't matter very much.
