This apartment is in one of the lower narrow alleyways in the town centre and hence enjoys the open views from its spacious terrace where you can dine outside on warm days. The apartment is within walking distance of shops and a good choice of restaurants.
This house is built into the rocks in a hilly position, so therefore we don't recommend it to people with reduced mobility or the especially young or old. However, if you don't mind the odd steps you will appreciate the originality and unique nature of this apartment. We advise that you arrive by car and there is indeed parking at the apartment. You will have to walk a few hundred metres with your luggage up some steps to get to the door but once you arrive you will forget about them and just admire the beauty of Via Vignoli.

1 bedroom apartment - sleeps 2/5:
The apartment is approx 150 m2 and is spread over several levels (no doors) and built out of rock. From the lowest part to the terrace room we count in all 45 steps. From the street, you will pass a few steps before reaching the barn which is now converted into a room with a double sofa bed in front of the fireplace, a dining area with a dining table, a kitchenette with a fridge, a 4 burner stove and a small alcove equipped with a sofa bed for one person, which can be converted into a bedroom when you close the curtain. In the kitchen you will find a door that leads to an underground wine cellar which you can use to store your drinks and other food. The living room has holes in the ground which are covered by glass and illuminated. These are likely to be Etruscan remains.
At the opposite end of the family room are a few steps up to a landing where there is a small bathroom with a toilet, a hair dryer, shower, and a view of the valley below. From the landing you can also go further up one floor to the bedroom where the bed is located in a small loft, or you can go one floor down to a stone staircase with uneven steps through a small laundry room with a washing machine and out on the large terrace, where the furthest corner appears as a small lush garden: From the terrace you overlook the green valley below the town and the surrounding woods, and from here you can hear the waterfall at the bottom of the valley. During the evening the waterfall is lit and it provides a fascinating attraction for the bats. The terrace is furnished with a table and chairs, a barbeque and a pergola if you need a little shade.
