Villa Treppié is set quite high in the landscape, which means there are lovely views over approx. two thirds of the horizon from the garden and the swimming pool. The last third (diagonally left) should be ignored, for this a flat, boring industrial area. Luckily enough it is so far away that the villa does not suffer any of its noise or smells. In fact the villa enjoys a privileged setting as it is near everything that makes Tuscany exciting, and at the same time it is isolated from the noise and traffic (only a very narrow gravel road leads up to the villa).
The garden in front of the villa is nice and shaded with large pine trees, and if you need more shade then there is the large colonnade in front of the villa. The villa itself was constructed in the 1970s so it is perhaps not the most exciting architectural piece, but the living room/dining room is fantastic for a large group. It is also quite fun to climb the tower (again don't look left, look right or straight ahead over the hilly landscape and the wonderful old villas and castles). The kitchen is really good; for once you feel that it is designed for someone who wants to cook for a large group! The bedrooms are very Italian in their décor, with lovely antique furniture next to some hideous modern acquisitions.

Finally we should just add that the family, who owns the villa, also has a well renowned vineyard in the neighbourhood, so there are good chances of a decent wine.
