Immerse yourselves in the evocative countryside of Radda in Chianti near Siena, an ideal place to enjoy moments of pure relaxation and a real gem for your authentic vinyard holiday. Here you can enjoy the peacefulness, colours and flavours of uncontaminated nature.
Castelvecchi was once a small town in itself, where all the farm labourers and peasants who took care of the property, produced wine, oil, etc once lived. Today there are fewer labourers working in the fields and hence the houses have been renovated and decorated to welcome visitors who wish to discover authentic Tuscany. You are just 6 km away from Tuscan medieval town of Radda in Chianti, and 12 km from the Chiantigiana road (SS222), with many excursions within easy driving distance including Siena, Florence, Arezzo and San Gimignano. Alternatively, you can just relax in this wonderfully historic hamlet and enjoy great food, wine and views.

You can enjoy a great feeling of space being amongst unspoilt nature here. The garden is very large and you can wander around at your leisure and find a shady corner under the century-old trees, where you can rest and read a book. Then there is the large sunny area by the pool (7 x 15 metres) from where there are the most beautiful views of the countryside.
The special feature of this charming agriturismo is its beautiful and millennium old wine cellar where you will see wine stored in chestnut and oak barrels. Besides tasting the house's great red wines (including their Chianti Gallo Nero) guided by the vineyard enologists either in Italian or English. You also have the option to become familiar with wines from the region of Veneto since the owners also produce wines and grappa from Veneto including Pinot noir, chardonnay, prosecco, Raboso and Agricanto.
On the small square in the resort which forms the centre of the hamlet, you can find the Fattoria Castelvecchi's cosy restaurant. Here you can enjoy traditional Tuscan dishes coupled with of course some quality wine. The menu changes with the season and depends on what is freshly available from the area. You can eat outside on the picturesque piazza, weather permitting, or indoors in the cosy dining room with the characteristic wooden beamed ceilings with natural stone and brick features.
The apartments are spread out around the old farmhouse and in the original owner's villa which is too big for Giovanni and Maria's current family. Each apartment has an individual shape and style but common to them all is the atmosphere that is formed by the ancient walls of brick, beamed wooden ceilings and terracotta floors from different decades. Each apartment has its own kitchen, so you can easily cater for yourselves if you do not wish to dine out - although please note that the equipment is more appropriate for simple Tuscan cooking. The apartments do not have air conditioning as it is not completely necessary in buildings of this type providing that you use the shutters properly to keep out the sun during the warmer hours of the day. They are otherwise very popular and have all modern comforts, including wi-fi internet access which is available in the area between the reception and restaurant since the thick walls of the buildings make it difficult to pick up the signal inside.

The place is located really great in a classic Chianti area. Beautiful and interesting towns. The place is good, with a lovely informal tone at the staff. However there's missing sunbeds by the pool, and a big part of those that are there, are broken. That should be changed :)
Fantastic service. We arrived late around 23 because we landed in another airport. The waiters at the restaurant gave us a light meal - super service.
The place is fantastic, along with the small town of Radda, there is everything you need for a lovely holiday stay.
