At the end of a winding 1,5 Km unmade road lined with heather, corbezzoli (strawberry trees) and holm oaks in the lovely countryside of the Crete Senesi is the Aia Vecchia. There are five apartments in the restored Montalceto Estate which at one time was a famed thermal spa.
Its waters were well known in the 15 th Century for curing arthritis and rheumatism. One attractive bath is still active from May to October, the water of the bath is about 32 degrees celsius and available for use by the guests of the fattoria.

Each apartment furnished with antiques, has its own entrance and satellite TV. On the ground floor of the main house there is a laundry, communal rooms and a well equipped kitchen. there is a large garden equipped with outdoor furniture, barbecue, mountain bikes and a billiard room, are at the disposal of the guests. On request the owner will prepare breakfast and typical Tuscan dishes for dinner.
A 250 m cypress- lined path leads to the swimmimg pool (14 x 9 m), with hydromassage, children’s playing area and a bowling alley.
Serre di Rapolano is aproxiomately 3½ km away and is the best place to find some sort of shopping and other places to eat.
