Fattoria di Castiglionchio will provide a beautiful setting for your holiday, set in the countryside with vineyards, woods all around and great views. Here you will stay around three kilometres from the town of Rosano Valdarno.
The farm was once a fortified village, but today it has rustic apartments and offers an eventful holiday in the hills just a short distance from Florence (15 km). The farm produces large amounts of olive oil and wine, which is available to buy from reception or in the restaurant, which is open two to three evenings a week.

The apartments are either in the main building, the newer building Girasoli or in the nearby farmhouse Rustico. Rustico is location 500 metres from the main building and the swimming pool, and 100 metres from the apartments, and parking is available by the house. You can request accommodation either in the main building or the more rurally located farmhouse, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee the location.
The farm has a spacious garden, a swimming pool (17 x 7 m with a depth of 75 - 135 cm. Other amenities include tennis court, bike hire, horse riding and laundry room. In addition to home made olive oil, wine and honey, other delicacies and specialities are also for sale. Once a week there is a conducted tour around the farm.
The place is particularly recommended to families who will find plenty of entertainment and activities for children and teenagers, a pleasant environment full of Tuscan atmosphere and spectacular views over the vineyards. There are good opportunities for excursions to well known towns including Florence, Siena, Vallombrosa, Reggello, San Gimignano and Greve in Chianti, which are all under an hour's drive.

I was in beautifully located Fattoria for a week with a friend, we really liked it, the staff and service in the reception and during our stay was super, the prices for wine, etc., which you can buy in the farm shop, was very reasonable (a bottle of white around 4 €). The equipment in the kitchen was a little sparse, the Italian coffee machine only sufficed for one, and a little basic equipment would be useful to get pots and pans clean.
The vineyard looks fantastic, which it was.
We were very satisfied.
And we stayed in Villa 11, which is for 8 people, and for us it was perfect, with the best view of the morning ever.
Can highly recommend staying for dinner at the vineyard on those nights they're open in their restaurant.
It was so nice and good, and even an affordable price at 20 euro (buffet).
We also think, that the visit to Florence was fantastic with the market near the train station as a +.
Radda in Chianti was beautiful.
The small village didn't have opportunity for a lot of shopping, but is worth a days trip and eating at the restaurant located on the promenade / the view down (30 m. hill) what a view. Very satisfied, and we will return. /Anna
We spend a week in Tuscany. We were only at the Fattoria for one night. The apartment (Frantoio 2) Is very spacious and comfortable, and the beds are great. We are very happy with our stay. I would like draw attention to the fact, that not all trains from Florence, stops in Pontassieve, which is says in the itinerary, you get in the reception.
Fantastic place, calm, a lot of beautiful things to see in the area, a place, where you feel welcome.
