Heartfelt reception

Podere il Poggiolo is not a place for large families or groups, but for couples with a child or two who want a warm reception, close contact with nature and authentic Tuscan cooking ... and all this comes at a price that is as humble as the owners themselves. This is a real agriturismo in every sense and it is no wonder that this farm is virtually sold out all year round. There are also horses on the land and horse riding lessons can be arranged in the area.

Try authentic Tuscan cooking

Serena and Alessandro and their son farm the land themselves and some of the fruits of their labour include olive oil and wine, and vegetables. The swimming pool is surrounded by their vineyard and the everything is grown organically. You will also find animals on the farm, in-fact they have a herd of pigs from the local variety Cinta Senese which later are made into sausages, ham and other products. That brings us on to the restaurant. There is no official menu, no opening hours, it very much depends on what products are available and what interest there is from guests. You can be sure of something though, that everything is fresh and organic. Each apartment has a private terrace with a table and chairs so you can cater for yourselves and dine outside, and also you can order take away from the restaurant to dine in your own area. If you wish to order food for your day of arrival, you are required to give two days notice.

Peaceful location

The last 650 metres of the road to the farm is a long a narrow dirt road, so there is no noise from traffic on the site. You are surrounded by unspoilt nature and there is plenty of space to roam and take walks in the country amidst the fields and vineyards.
