Many tourists visiting Tuscany make a point of seeing or staying in San Gimignano, which is very interesting indeed. However if you choose to stay at Cantine Cesani you can explore the town amongst the crowds but then at the end of the day, beat a peaceful retreat back to the idyllic farm.

And where better to stay than in the small village of Pancole located just six kilometres from the "city of the beautiful towers"? There are generally few tourists in Pancole, but the views of the surrounding countryside and San Gimignano are plentiful. The famous Vernaccia di San Gimignano is made in the hills around Pancole, which is often considered as one of Italy's best white wines.
You will be fortunate enough to try many award winning wines when you stay here. The Cesani family vineyard has produced wine and olive oil for over 50 years. Their wine is quite rightly famous for its high quality, and includes several wines that have received the "Tre Bicchieri" award by the wine bible "Gambero Rosso".
You have access to a swimming pool of 12 x 6 metres in the garden, where you can cool down and enjoy a glass of wine from the farm cellar while you admire the beautiful Tuscan scenery. What more could you want? Except possibly some wine tasting arranged by the farm for its guests!
Even though several generations of the family still live on the farm, it became too big for them since they no no longer needed to provide accommodation for farm hands. Hence the family decided to convert part of the farm in to hotel rooms. There are 10 rooms in total and they are comfortably and stylishly furnished with solid furniture and good taste and all have a mini-bar. Two of the rooms are on the first floor and have their own private patio in front of the door. Please note that there is no particular view from these terraces and that these rooms are a bit darker, since they are situated on the first floor. You can certainly look forward to a good breakfast here as the Cesani family know how important it is to start the day with a filling and wholesome breakfast. If you choose to stay on the farm during the day, you can request a light lunch which consists of mixed tapas by ordering in the morning at breakfast or the evening before.
NOTE: The reception closes at 18:00 and then it is only possible to check in afterwards at an agreed time on payment of a supplement. Please contact us if you are going be late so that we can advise that family of your expected arrival time.

This is our fifth time to Cantine Cesani and as usual we had a great time. Everybody is so happy and willing to make it a good stay for us. We see Cantine Cesani as our home in Toscany.
