Enjoy the fresh air and exceptionally beautiful scenery with plenty of space to roam free. The Via Francigena which is the historical pilgrims route actually runs through the grounds of San Pietro Country House and continues on through the vineyards surrounding it.
This old farm building set on a hill, so here is usually a pleasant breeze and always a beautiful view of the vineyards, forests, valleys and in the distance cultural cities such as Certaldo and Certaldo Alto. There is a lovely swimming pool of 18 x 6 metres which is surrounded by sun loungers and parasols where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Here are just eight neat and very spacious rooms, all equipped with air conditioning, satellite television, a safety deposit box and a hairdryer. At the estate's main building is the reception and the original cellar is where you can buy the wines. There is also a restaurant serving delicious Tuscan cuisine which is open several days a week, and is where the breakfast buffet is available.
Clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Very beautiful surroundings. Dinner was sadly only served one of the three nights we stayed there, but it was very good. Even breakfast was OK for being Italian, even though the bread was surprisingly stale and boring. The house wine was good and cheap.
Road instructions from San Gimignano to Santo Pietro was all too rudimentary. It was lucky, that we ad a GPS. The last part of the road was also pretty bad. We had rented a Jeep, and that can be recommended.
